Glossy Box Review: The Man Repeller January Box

A few weeks ago I received an email for the awesome people over at Glossy Box, they kindly invited me to give a review of Glossy Box for all of you lovely readers. You may or may not know this but I’m a bit of a box fanatic, I love trying out new boxes and I search the web for them during my free time. Pink Birch Boxes regularly arrive at my door. But BirchBox you may just have big competition.

Like most subscription boxes Glossy Boxes arrive once every month. The box I received was Glossy Boxes January shipment. To mark the beginning of a new year of boxes Glossy Box teamed up with (in my opinion) the essence of cool: Leandra Medine aka the Man Repeller.

What’s in a Glossy Box?

Well the products change every month, I received some sample sized products but then I also received two full sized items. (Way cool!)

Inside my Man Repeller Glossy Box were some of Leandra Medine’s favorite beauty products:

  1. Estee Lauder Suptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara,
  2. Fresh Umbrian Clay Mattifying Serum
  3. Le Metier De Beaute Replenishing Daily Solution
  4. Narciso Rodriguez for Her Eau De Toilette Spray – reminds me of Bvlgari fragrances.
  5. OPI “Can’t Let Go” Liquid Sand Nail Lacquer
  6. Sebastian Professional Potion 9
  7. Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick.

The Tarte Glamazon full-sized lipstick is very bright! It totally makes your lips pop orangey red plus the bamboo case is really cute, but sadly it smudges like crazy. So be careful ladies.

I also tried OPI’s “Can’t Let Go” Liquid Sand Nail Lacquer, this might just be a product I will be going back to, I’m a big OPI fan. I own OPI from the ballerina and Nicki Minaj collection collection. And also pick up the OPI and Sephora’s line occasionally when I see a must have color. I tend to shy away from OPI’s effects polish because I really just don’t like their crackle polish. But the texture with the Liquid Sand Lacquer is really neat. It’s matte mixed with glitter and some sort of sandy texture.  Plus like most OPI t dries really nice and stays on well.

I haven’t tried any of the other items yet so stay tuned for more possible reviews but also Sephora’s review system can be a helpful when trying to decide what you want. But Glossy Box is great for trying on products you’re not quite sure about or just a way to find something you may love. Want your own Glossy Box? Get going it’s only $21 for a Monthly Subscription.
